Hypnotic State
Hypnotic State
Project Mapping Kinetic Light Installation
Hypnotic State immerses viewers in an intricate interplay of light, motion, and sound, exploring the fluid relationship between perception, technology, and time-space. Concentric ripple patterns and optical textures create a hypnotic visual experience, enhanced by a subtle layer of shifting white noise in the background. This sensory combination evokes a meditative state, dissolving boundaries between reality and illusion.

Rooted in phenomenology, post-humanism, and cybernetics, the work examines how human perception is mediated by technology. Influenced by Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s concept of embodiment, the installation transforms perception into a participatory act, where the viewer’s position and movement alter their experience of space. The interplay of organic, wave-like forms with mechanical precision reflects post-humanist ideas of hybridity, while the recursive patterns and soft soundscape evoke the cyclical and interconnected nature of time.
Hypnotic State offers a sensory journey through light, motion, and sound, challenging viewers to reflect on how technology reshapes their experience of reality and their understanding of space, time, and self. It is a space for contemplation, where the merging of visual and auditory elements invites a deeper connection to the transformative power of perception.
