Synestral, a representation of eastern utopia, is an audiovisual installation consisting of four paintings and a central sculptural structure. The elements are arranged in a circular composition within a black box to create an oriental atmosphere.
This work invites the audience to have a voice and exist. When the audience makes a sound or plays music, sensitive sensors in the system react. All the lamps turn on and off in different rhythms and colors in harmony with low- and high-pitched sounds.
The song piece, Asymetric Refraction (2.0), was composed by the Tombak and Handpen instruments. The percussion sound of these two instruments activates the system's sensors as if this system is responsible for visualizing all the notes.
This project is also a synesthesia machine that takes all musical notes and converts them into lights.
